Community
Our students play an active role in the wider community of Redcar, Teesside and the world beyond.
Rye Hills School is proud to be part of the Redcar community and the wider Teesside region. Our students are enthusiastic fundraisers, for example, raising thousands of pounds each year for local charities they have decided to support.
Our formal partnership with Almond College in Lira, Uganda, also gives students the chance to share experiences with young people from a different continent – learning about differences but also similarities too.
Many of our after-school activities, such as sport, music, film, catering and drama, offer students the chance to share their skills and interests with young people and adults outside the school. This experience of the wider world leaves students better placed to be active citizens when they finish school.
